Race Information
Spotlight On Nursing’s “For Tomorrow’s Nurses” is a family-oriented 5K/10K Run Walk and 1 mile “FUN” Walk to raise awareness of the nursing shortage and support the education of tomorrow’s nurses. The Run/Walk is open to individuals of all ages, skills and abilities. The event will be timed & scored.
Race Day Events
7:00 – 8:45 am: Packet Pick-Up & Registration
If pre-registered, you may pick up your registration and scrub top the morning of the Run/Walk. Participants may also choose to register on the morning of the event.
7:30 – 10:00 am: Race Day Events, Health & Wellness Fair & Flu Shot Clinic
Join in the fun with live entertainment, Health & Wellness Fair, Flu Shot Clinic, free post-race breakfast and refreshments, face painting, drawings, finisher and age division awards.
9:00 am: 10K Competitive Run
NEW flat and fast 10K course this year! The run starts and finishes in front of Buggs Temple, with a loop around the city streets before turning onto the Downtown Canal. Mile markers and water stations will be provided along the route. IPICO TAG timed.
9:30 am: 5K Run/Walk
9:45 am: 1 Mile “FUN” Walk
Just want to come out and support the cause? The 1 Mile “FUN” Walk is just for you! Bring your family and friends out for a casual walk along the canal.
Health & Wellness Fair
Come visit our fun and educational Health & Wellness Fair featuring a variety of screenings, activities, and demonstrations provided by our sponsors.
Flu Shot Clinic by VNS
Visiting Nurse Service, Inc will be administering flu and pneumonia vaccinations at both Pre-Registration/Packet Pick Up and at the Run/Walk. These clinics are open to the public. Registration for the Run/Walk is not required.

Raffle Drawings

Finisher & Age Division Awards
The top 3 finishers in the run will receive separate awards. Age division awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each run category, beginning with 12<, 13-15, 16-19 . . . 80+. Age division awards provided by:

Teams
Together, teams can raise awareness to the importance of nurses in our community. It’s a great way to get your family, friends and co-workers together to have fun, socialize and show your support for a great profession – NURSING! Receive a discount on your entry fee by forming a team of 10 or more! When registering, be sure to list your team name and captain.
Team registration has been extended to Tuesday, October 6th!

Indianapolis Downtown Canal: Buggs Temple, 337 W. 11th Street
Buggs Temple is located on W. 11th Street between Senate Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Free surface parking will be available under the I-65 overpass on W. 11th Street.
